Welcome! Our non-profit organization is dedicated to aiding those children less fortunate. Established 15 years we have been able to provide a holiday to over 5,000 area children.
Every Christmas Season the Round Lake Park Police Department coordinates the greater Round Lake Area Shop with a Cop Program. This program enables children to go shopping with a police officer, from one of the participating area police departments. All the children then are driven by police officers to a local Wal-Mart Store for their dreams to become a reality. These children are given a gift certificate with a generous amount attached to it so they can buy some of the things on their Christmas wish list. Each child is accompanied by a police officer while they do their Christmas shopping.
The first "Shop With a Cop" event had eleven children participate. The program has grown to over 500 children applying for the program this year.
Children are selected with the assistance of the local school district and social service agencies.
Shop with a Cop would not be the success that it is every year if it weren't for the generosity of all the contributors and all those that participate in this worthwhile program.
